Day 6 and 7

Here's Trisha to sum up a couple of days:
Well Friday we started out at the new church office. After some lunch we went back to the "brown" house and finished cleaning it up.Then we went back to the church, took some much needed showers, and hit the town for our "Night on the town." It was interesting and we got some souveniers. Today we got up early, 3:45 to be exact, and hit the road. All but Ike and Julianna slept. Kelsey a.k.a cat a.k.a bottoms was very entertaining on the ride home; well, that is when she wasn't sleeping. Ike found a plastic santa clause and liked showing it to random people as we drove by. It was a fantastic week, we all had a great time serving God, and the sites were an added bonus!

Day 5

Here is the todays good new according to Kelsey:

Today was a hot one! We started out by finishing our job of planting trees at City Hall. In the midst of it all Trisha and I were interupted to join Ike at the new church office to finish tiling. Around noon our task was to tear down sheet rock and door frames and it was a HUGE mess. Then we went back to the "brown" house (a house we worked on earlier in the week) and tore it up. After a long, and I mean LONG day of sweating, we enjoyed a nice night on the beach; breaking a surf board and chowing down on some chinese food! Showers sure were a great way to bring the day to a close along with playing cards with a few new friends from Houston.

Day 4 Galveston

Here is Andrew Bezolt -

Today was an awesome day! We could really tell that God was there helping us with our work today! For the most of the early morning hours we woke up early and did devotions, then worked in the kitchen, and gradually made our way out the door to a whole new mission field. Today was a fairly nice day as compared to the past couple or hot humid days. For the most part of the morning was spent at the courthouse transplanting plants, digging holes to plant new trees and shrubs, and also some weeding and other landscaping. Most of the afternoon was spent cleaning off and scraping the floor of excess debris and also tiling the floor along with vaccuming, sweeping, and mopping dust up from the floor. But today was quite the awesome day and we could really tell that God was watching us and helping us in all the work we did today!
All in Christ, Andrew

Day 3

Here is the account of the day according to Baihley Jorgenson: Today we helped out at the City hall. We helped them landscape. Then in the afternoon we went to a house and tore out all the electrical and plumbing.then we went back to the church , got our swimming suits and then went to little ceasars and headed to the beach. We swam till nine O'clock and came back to the church and took showers.Thats what we did today.

Thanks Baihley for using as few words as you can!!! We met some cool people today, and learned a little about the hurricane. When Hurricane Ike came in it blew alot of ocean water into the Island killing alot of the plants and flowers due to being under salt water. For this reason we were pruning at City hall and tomorrow we will be planting new shrubs brush and trees in the spots of what use to be there. What Baihley didn't mention what the HEAT. It was 92 degrees today with a heat index of 108!!! It was warm. We are going through alot of water and we are earning our keep. Suppose to be this hot all week so pray for our perseverance and hydration. I will try and post some pictures on here somtime this week too.
Thanks for reading

Day 2

Thought it would be fun if a student gave their perspective of the trip each evening. We arrived safe and sound here in Lamarque this evening. Tyler Jorgenson will tell you the rest.

Tyler:
We got up at 6:00 and ate breakfast and left. We then left for Texas we slept for about two hours. then we ate at a Jack in The Box and met a lady who lost her keys and found them in her armpit. We then left again and Ike slept while not sleeping. We then arrived in Dallas at Bass Pro Shops. Ike spent alot of money on lures. We then left for Houstan stopped at Sonic and ate. We arrived at the church at 9:30 and unpacked and settled in.
Good Night

Tomorrow

It is the night before and I am just wondering what I have forgotten for the trip. Pretty excited. Julianna (our female sponsor for the trip) is coming down in the morning and she is quite excited as well. Hope and pray that our hearts and hands are ready for this!!! It would be great to be a part of a life changing experience.
